The Warlocks

Here comes something with history and a strong tape echo sound – The Warlocks. The band was founded in Los Angeles in the late 90s and operates somewhere between psychedelic and krautrock sounds, paired with US rock, which is strongly reminiscent of The Velvet Underground. Songs from the Pale Eclipse and Rise & Fall are full of these sounds that rain down on you with an intensity that is second to none. Fast-played bass tracks alongside dynamic drum beats and wide, reverberating overdrive guitars characterize the sound of the US band. But that doesn’t mean that the band can’t also be slow and relaxed, because here and there they come along with songs like House of Glass that drag on slowly, gloomy, almost melancholic. There’s a lot to listen to and experience here that we are longing to experience live.
